Drive onto the island

Lefkada is uniquely connected to mainland Greece by a short causeway — no ferry required. From Preveza Airport the route is straightforward, crossing the lagoon bridge onto the island and following the east coast road south to Desimi.

A hire car is strongly recommended for the duration of your stay. It gives you full freedom to explore the island's beaches, villages and mountain roads at your own pace.
